There have been some issues with accessing the audiobooks, please be patient as the State Library staff works out the problems. A transition such as this one takes time to work out the bugs....so please be patient and stay tuned for updates!

Thanks!

Reading just became EZ-ier

For those who love the convenience of downloading ebooks and audiobooks to their personal electronic devices, the opportunity to sign on with two new vendors is underway.
The State Library of Kansas and CCCC Library are pleased to announce the Kansas EZ Library of digital books available to all Kansas library users. Acting on behalf of Kansas libraries, the State Library of Kansas has entered into agreements with OneClickDigital (for downloadable audiobooks) and 3M (for downloadable eBooks).
OneClickDigital for audiobooks is available via the State Library of Kansas and CCCC Library. Books can be accessed at this site www.kslib.info/digitalbooks. Users must have a Kansas Library card that can be requested at CCCC Library.
Regular users of the download service will find the new interface with OneClickDigital much simpler and faster to use. Video and written tutorials are available at www.kslib.info/digitalbooks to assist individuals in using the new service.

In addition, the State Library will begin offering an ebook solution through 3M Cloud Library soon. Updates for the beginning of this service can be found on the www.kslib.info/digitalbooks site. The Kansas EZ library page also features other free audiobook and ebook resources available to Kansas readers.
On Dec. 5, Kansas ended its six-year contract OverDrive, a source for downloadable books. The books previously available for checkout through OverDrive and possibly on hold for patrons will no longer be accessible. However, thanks to the diligence of the State Library, many of the titles popular with customers have been transferred to the new vendors’ platforms, and now are available through the two new services.

Final Stage of Renovations....Summer 2011

The Library is currently in the final stages of renovations. The computer lab, staff offices, periodicals room and the archives room are currently without a ceiling and the final phase of the library HVAC system will be installed soon. After three long years of renovations, the library is almost done!

Although we are behind on summer projects from the last three years...we are looking forward to updated spaces with heating and cooling controls!

We look forward to seeing all of the students back for the fall semester!

Have a great Summer!!

Let there be LIGHT!!

For a long time I have been asking for a Skylight in the Library....well we finally have one!
Okay, before you gets your hopes up as I did at the sight, it is just temporary.

Aww... the sight of progress and change.

The heating and cooling system is coming along, soon we will be able to enjoy the comforts of the library with our own temperature controls; which translates into cool in the summer and warm in the winter!

A special thanks to all that are working so hard to finish the library in time for our students in the fall.

Progress in the Library...

Wow!! Another summer of excitement at the CCCC Library. Just as we were settling into our newly renovated library space on the Concordia campus we were informed that this summer would bring more changes. After moving the library books out of the library for the second summer in a row....we are excited to say that the library will have its own heating and cooling controls! For all of you current students and former students you understand what we are talking about, right? The heat in the library could be pretty bad at times and as of Fall 2010 we will once again be able to enjoy our inviting and now comfortable space.

Just so you can see the changes taking place....here is a photo. Be creative and use your imagination to see just how wonderful it will be!

Hope you are all enjoying your summer....fall class are just around the corner!

CCCC Library Gets A New Look!!

Summer 2009 has been a whirlwind of changes for the CCCC Library at the Concordia Campus. After 40 years the library has a whole new updated look!!
So, you have to be asking yourself "What will I see that is new @ the library?
New carpet, new computer lab, new layout, new reference desk, new carpet, new furnishings and yes.....COLOR!!
The new tables and chairs will arrive late September!!

(Partial funding of the CCCC Library remodeling project was made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.)

In addition, we will start the Fall 2009 semester with a new online library catalog...Auto-Graphics Verso will be the resource that you students, faculty, staff and community members will not want to miss.

On behalf of the library staff...We cannot wait for everyone to see all of the hard work that has been done in the library over the last few months. We are excited to start a new school year and look forward to everyone enjoying the updated and comfortable environment that the library now offers!!

Many students have already stopped by for a preview and the looks of amazement and excitement has made all the hard work and late nights of painting and preparing the library worthwhile. We sincerly hope you enjoy the "New & Improved" Library!!

A special thanks to the CCCC Board of Trustees and the Administration for their support in making the college library a great place for our students to enjoy.

HAVA JAVA Coffee Bar

Coffee is NOW available in the Library!!

We had an official ribbon cutting and dedication on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 6p.m. for the new "Hava Java" coffee bar that is located in the CCCC Library. We serve various drinks...such as hot chocolates, cappucinos, lattes, mochas, a european blend coffee and espresso. In addition, we have various flavors to make that perfect drink to enjoy on your way to class, work or wherever your day may take you.

Stop in the library and take a look, buy a coffee, and if you have time...relax at our new tables or in a lounge chair with your laptop or the daily newspaper.
